A personal weather system business partnered with Augurian’s SEO content marketing team to help them reach more leads through organic search. Our content marketing Senior Analyst, Jonah Jelinski, created a new blog that answers the question “How accurate are weather forecasts?” to target people who would benefit from having accurate local forecasts from a personal weather station.
We targeted commonly-searched keywords as well as “People also ask” SERP features using FAQ schema.
In the first month from being published, Augurian’s process for content marketing brought big traffic wins. The blog drove ~1,900 clicks and 1,390,000 impressions from 29 Featured Snippets and 272 “People also ask” features!
The majority of the clicks and impressions came from the query “weather” in a subtopic feature on the Google app; this resulted from us targeting “People also ask” features. This query had an estimated monthly search volume of 101,000,000 with a “100% very hard keyword to compete for” rating from SEMrush. This query drove 300+ clicks and ~580,000 impressions in one month!
This blog’s success along with our other blog’s performances helped convince the client to increase our content output for them.
